About Our Textures
Virelight’s expertise in crafting premium electrical accessories combines traditional artisanal techniques with modern technological processes, backed by years of in-house experience and investment in manufacturing skills.
With one of the most extensive and high-quality texture portfolios internationally, Virelight produces all internal switch and socket components in-house, with many of the press tools designed and fabricated by our skilled mechanical engineers. This enables us to customise textures for push button (bell push / rotary dimmer), toggle, and rocker switches — particularly valuable when creating multi-function “hotel-style” combination plates that integrate lighting and power elements in a single unit.
Common textures are achieved through immersion of faceplates in various electrophoretic coating baths. Each faceplate is carefully prepared, jigged, and degreased by hand, before undergoing a final baking stage that ensures a durable and resilient surface. For updating or enhancing wiring accessories in heritage or older buildings, we employ a combination of chemical and mechanical processes to age brass materials, finished with a protective clear lacquer.
The addition of our robotic polishing and satining systems allows Virelight to produce matching switch caps precisely aligned with the faceplate textures. Each component is manufactured to exacting standards, ensuring consistent quality and a perfect fit in the finished product.
